For its third annual Dash+Dine 5K Run/Walk benefitting the United Way, Cargill’s Wichita-based meat business asked Associated to design and develop creative materials to promote the event.
In 2013, the Agency created a new shirt and poster concept promoting the run. The event saw nearly 400 participants.
To boost awareness for the 2014 run, Associated created a new shirt, poster and Facebook concept promoting the event. We encourage all to participate in the run on September 20 at 9 a.m. to benefit the United Way. For more information, visit: UnitedWayPlains.org/dashdine

This year′s 8th annual Care-A-Ton tree giveaway was a huge success! Scheduled to start at 6 a.m. in front of the Warren Old Town Theatre in Old Town Square near Second Street and Mead, people started arriving shortly after 5 a.m.! By 5:30 a.m., we decided to give the people what they wanted: free trees!
Our much-loved and anticipated community outreach event received wall-to-wall news coverage from KWCH 12 Eyewitness News, KAKE-TV, KSN TV, the Wichita Eagle and KFDI News. By 7:30 a.m., Associated employees and other volunteers had passed out all 750 trees in four varieties: red maple, Ann magnolia, dawn redwood and post oak.
The event gets its name from the fact that a tree, throughout its lifetime, removes an estimated one ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Thanks to our Care-A-Ton program, nearly 8,000 new trees have been provided and planted throughout the Wichita area.
This year′s sponsors included Associated Integrated Marketing, Westar Energy, Sterling Silver Premium Meats, Airbus, Williams Ace Hardware, Wichita Rain Barrels, Building Controls and Services, Tanker Top 3, Exhibit Arts, LAW Graphics, Speedy Cash, Johnson′s Garden Centers and KFDI Radio.

Associated recently welcomed two new employees to its team. At the beginning of April, we had two employees join our creative team: Morgan Martinez was hired as an art director and Leah Osoba was hired as a copywriter.
The Art Director title isn’t new to Morgan as she was previously on Associated’s creative team for two years within the same role. With a total of 10 years of experience, Morgan has broad expertise in branding, promotional and advertising campaigns, website design, video/broadcast, packaging and one-of-a-kind collateral pieces.
Gaining the title of Copywriter, Leah is an experienced journalist and copywriter. She worked as a reporter at The Wichita Eagle before transitioning into Internet marketing, copywriting and ghostwriting for the past three years.
Benjamin Franklin was a man of practicality. He once wrote, “…In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” But old Ben forgot something – he forgot Pat. As surely as we can count on taxes to be taken from every dime we earn, and as surely as we know death will someday come knocking for all of us, we can count on Pat Dreiling…Read More »
This month, Associated participated in the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce EXPOsure small business trade show. Held at Century II Convention Center, the show hosted more than 185 small businesses, ranging from health care providers to aviation manufacturers.
Members of each of the agency′s departments volunteered at the AIM booth, networking with professionals from a variety of other organizations and answering questions regarding projects and capabilities.
AIM was recognized for being an outstanding first-time participant with the “Rookie of the Year” award for its exceptional booth setup and content.
“It was a great networking opportunity,” said VP/Creative Director Dave Stewart, “We met folks from so many different businesses and really felt like it was a good chance to getting our name out there, while educating people on what it is that we do.”

For its second annual Dash+Dine 5K Run/Walk benefitting the United Way, Cargill′s Wichita-based meat business asked Associated to help boost awareness by designing and developing creative materials to promote the event.
In 2012, the Agency branded the race by concepting an original name and designing a coordinating logo, before creating a poster and t-shirt for runners.
For the 2013 run, Associated created a new shirt and poster concept promoting the race. The Sept. 21 event saw nearly 400 participants, including five runners from the Associated team.
Associated recently welcomed three new employees to its team. This June, two recent graduates were hired as interns; Kyle Reynolds joined the account service team to assist with client partnership duties, and Stephanie Schulz joined the creative team as a graphic design intern. This month, both Kyle and Stephanie were hired as full time employees, gaining the titles of Account Coordinator and Junior Art Director, respectively.
Additionally, Kristin Ghere joined the account service team this August as an Account Executive. Kristin is an established communications professional, with experience as Promotions Director for Clear Channel Radio, and Corporate Events Director at the American Heart Association.
This August, Associated′s management team took part in an Executive Night, hosted by the Wichita Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI.)
At the event, each of the EWI member firms was invited to represent itself with a display showcasing its work or services. The theme of the event was “Travel Around EWI of Wichita,” and all in attendance were given “passports” and encouraged to explore the room and visit each business.
Kim Weprin, Shawn Steward, Luke Gutschenritter and Dave Stewart represented Associated with a display highlighting projects, people and capabilities of the agency.
Associated is a founding member of the Wichita Chapter of EWI. Founded in Jan. 1970, the group′s mission is to bring together “key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development and encouraging community involvement.”

We′re excited to have two bright-eyed new interns in the office this summer. Both recent graduates, Stephanie Schulz joins us from KU, and Kyle Reynolds from K-State. It would seem we have a Sunflower showdown of our own brewing, but they′ve agreed to be civil for the time being, as respectable rivals should be outside of football and basketball season. Stephanie will be working with the creative department as a graphic design intern, and Kyle will be supporting the client service team.
At the recent annual meeting of the Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA) in Portland, Ore., the Associated team earned two awards – including a first place – for its work on behalf of Grasshopper Mowers. Hundreds of Wichita residents rose early on April 26th to drive through Old Town Square for a free tree during Associated′s 7th Annual Care-A-Ton event. Associated gave away nearly 600 Brandywine Maple trees beginning at 6:30 a.m. Brisk traffic through the square saw the final tree loaded well before 9 a.m. Joining Associated as sponsors of the event were Johnson′s Garden Center, Westar Energy, KFDI, Airbus and Exhibit Arts. Check out our event photo album on Facebook.
We′re excited to welcome three talented people who have recently joined our team (pictured left to right): Tim Landwehr, Account Coordinator; Alexa Hodes, Account Executive and Ben Lymer, Front End Developer.
